What does your dancer need to bring?
All dancers will need to have their hair in a well secured bun, or have short hair secured away from the face. A little makeup is suggested to show facial features under the stage lighting. Dancers will need clean tights without any holes and slippers. An “undertard” is recommended. I will contact Kevin about making these available for purchase.
A non-breakable water bottle is permitted; food is not allowed backstage. Dancers may NOT eat in their costumes!
***************************************************************************
We will be setting up a goodie table at each performance. Please consider bringing something to share with our audience. Remember to label with ingredients regarding allergens.
*******************************************
Parents, please do your best to have your child attend as many rehearsals as possible, but the most important one is dress rehearsal. If your child is sick, do not worry about missing an event, do whatever is needed to encourage them to get well so they can join us soon.

RAD event this Saturday!

On this Saturday, the 19th, we will be viewing the RAD Genee Competition livestreamimg from London, starting at 11:30am. Natalie will bring her full size screen and we will set up in the atrium. Please join us for this exciting event. Our own students in the upper level will be participating in the Genee Dance Challenge this coming January in San Jose, so this will be a grand intro to RAD student events.

Classes start today!

Hello! The fall session of classes begins today! We look forward to seeing everyone back in class and meeting new students. Kevin Sharkey, of Threadbare Dancewear, will be down with all the supplies you might need to buy, on Monday, October 5 around 2pm. No need to make a special trip north or order gear online.

Aerial silks

Yesterday we put on a bake sale for Feet First to support the purchase of another safety mat for the aerial silks class. It was a success and we had a lot of fun! Thank you to everyone who donated baked goods and to everyone who helped. A special thanks to Islay, a former Feet First’er, who now teaches at Trillium in Arcata. Margo made lovely strawberry tutu cupcakes, with a fondant tutu on the top! Yay!

Classes will be taught by Jessica Rubin on Fridays at the Redwood Playhouse, adults 2:30-4, kids and teens, 4-6.  More details will be available soon.

** I am considering adding a class for adults- Dancer’s Warm-up Workout, Tuesdays at 8am and Thursdays at 12:15. I am looking for feedback from the working ladies to see if this meets their schedules, as I am hoping to offer this to the general public, not ballet specific. It will be a combo of pilates, ballet barre and yoga stretching, just as dancers might do to warm up for class and performance.
